Grapes - Nerello Mascalese
Region - Sicily, Italy
Winemaking - The must ferments at 23ºC in wooden casks and in stainless steel tanks where it remains in contact with the grape skins for 14 days during which time it is stirred twice a day. The wine is aged for 6 to 8 months in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels before bottling.
What it tastes Like - This red wine opens with aromas of forest fruit and smoky notes, with a hint of black pepper spice. On the palate it is fleshy but smooth, with a fruity explosion and a subtle salty note.
